Well, we had our inspection last Wednesday and the house passed inspection! So, once the Foster Parenting folks do their end of the paperwork (should be about a month and a half) we’ll be certified foster parents. We’re approved for 3 children to start (because that’s how many beds we have) and once we are full we’ll look at adding either another double bed or a bunk bed depending on whether we want to max out at 4 or 5 children. 5 is the maximum you can have without getting certified as a group home which isn’t in our plans. So, needless to say we are very excited and it’s nice for me to know that all of the time, work, and money I’ve put in the house has finally paid off. Of course, the house is still nowhere near done, but it meets the minimum safety standards for Foster Care .
I would have put this entry in right away but for some reason the Live Spaces site won’t let me add a blog entry from my Linux PC’s so I had to wait until I had time (and inclination) to use a Windows PC. (I use Linux at the office and home but I have Windows PC available in both places too). Anyway, there’s the good news.
As a side note, I’m now getting my hands on the recordings of the Sunday morning teachings I’ve done and making them available online so you can hear me recorded live! Now how fun is that?
